Play with people who show up.

BPM is the quiet trust signal behind every game on thump! — earned by showing up on time, playing fair, and leaving the run better than you found it.

What it measures

One calm number. Two honest signals.

BPM — your Behavioral Performance Metric — captures the two things that actually make pickup work, and nothing else.

Reliability

You show up

Do you turn up for the games you commit to? Showing up on time is the foundation — and the thing flaking quietly works against.

Peer perception

You make it better

How does it feel to play with you? After each game, the people who were there can vouch for the players who lifted the run.

How you earn it

Ten seconds after the final whistle.

When a game wraps, everyone who played gets a quick swipe — a simple thumbs up for the players who made it great. That's the whole ritual: no forms, no scores out of ten.

Those votes, plus your attendance, gently move your BPM over time. Stay reliable and it climbs. The signal travels with you to every court you walk onto.

Built to be fair

Designed so it can't be gamed.

A trust signal only works if people trust it. BPM is built to be steady, fair, and resistant to bad actors.

No one person can tank you

A single vote barely moves anything. The fewer people weighing in, the less their votes count — so a lone bad actor can't damage your reputation.

New players ease in

Brand-new accounts move slowly while they build a history, so nobody locks in an extreme reputation — good or bad — over their first few games.

Plans change — that's okay

Cancel with enough notice and there's no penalty. Pull out of a lobby request or a waitlist anytime, no strings attached.

Couldn't fill? Not your fault

If a host has to cancel because too few players signed up, that's never held against them. The system knows the difference.

What it isn't

Not a leaderboard. Not a scarlet letter.

There are no public rankings, no badges to chase, and no wall of shame. BPM is private to you.

Hosts don't see your number — only a simple sense of whether you're reliable when they're filling a game. It exists for one reason: so the run you signed up for is the run you get.
